"grit: an artistic journey"

"Grit" is a poster about me as a Designer, illustrating my perseverance in the creative process and infused with Oriental and Asian influences to reflect my interest in Chinese culture.
Sundial — a traditional Chinese timekeeping device, depicted as both a spiral staircase and an arena, symbolising my continual ascent towards improvement (iterative design) and the battles against time in my creative journey.
Demon — the dragon head and rabbit body reflects my Chinese zodiac. Emerging from the sundial's shadow, it represents how I am my greatest enemy under time pressure, illustrated in a sketchy style to depict how struggles are usually in my head.
— Character design: My character is a roly-poly toy (不倒翁) dressed as a female general, holding a paintbrush. Despite my small stature, just like the toy's ability to right itself, I push through setbacks.
